[Information] Explanation of the filtration material test in use

Implemented in accordance with the provisions of JWWA A103-1988! Information on screening tests, washing turbidity tests, and more is included.

This document explains the testing of filtration materials in use based on the Japan Water Works Association standard JWWA A103. It includes tests such as the "sieving test," "cleaning turbidity test," "adhered material turbidity test," and "quantitative test for adhered metal substances." We continue to conduct tests in accordance with the regulations established in 1988 under JWWA A103-1988. However, regarding the standard solution for turbidity measurement, we have changed from the previously used kaolin suspension to a polystyrene particle suspension for calibration due to revisions in water quality standards. [Contents (partial)] ■ Sieving test ■ Cleaning turbidity test ■ Adhered material turbidity test ■ Adhered material sludge volume test ■ Quantitative test for adhered metal substances *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

[Application Development Open] "Sand" that meets customer needs.

"Sand" with infinite possibilities - water supply, power plants, sports facilities, golf courses, universities, and pet food, with a wide range of achievements. We will respond with the best proposals for your inquiries.

"Rapid filtration sand" is a type of sand used in rapid filtration systems for water treatment. The particle size of rapid filtration sand is defined by an effective diameter ranging from 0.45 to 0.70 mm, and the uniformity coefficient, which indicates the consistency of the particles, must be 1.7 or lower according to the Japan Water Works Association standards. Generally, rapid filtration sands with effective diameters of 0.5 mm and 0.6 mm are commonly used in many water purification facilities. Our company can also produce sand in sizes tailored to customer specifications. Please feel free to consult with us. 【Product Lineup】 ■ 15L small bags ■ FIBC (Flexible Intermediate Bulk Container) *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

Rapid filtration sand for water supply

Wide range of granularity adjustments according to purpose! Production of sand in sizes tailored to your needs is also possible.

"Rapid filtration sand" is the sand used in rapid filtration ponds employing the rapid filtration method. The particle size is specified by the effective diameter, which ranges from 0.45 to 0.70 mm, and the uniformity coefficient, which should be 1.7 or less, according to the standards set by the Japan Water Works Association. However, in general, rapid filtration sands with effective diameters of 0.5 mm and 0.6 mm are commonly used in many water purification facilities. Our company can also produce sand in sizes tailored to your needs, so please feel free to contact us. 【Features】 ■ Contains few impurities, flat or fragile sand, and sand iron ■ Washing turbidity is below 30 degrees ■ Density is between 2.57 and 2.67 g/cm3 ■ Loss on ignition is 1.3% or less ■ Friction rate is 3.0% or less *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Slow sand filter sand for water supply

Effective against cryptosporidiosis! Introduction of high-quality filter sand containing a lot of quartz.

"Slow sand filter sand" is the filtration sand used in slow sand filtration ponds. The slow sand filtration method is a historically significant filtration technique adopted when modern water supply systems began in London in the early 19th century. It produces high-quality drinking water at a slow filtration rate of 4 to 5 meters per day. According to the Japan Water Works Association standards, the effective diameter representing the grain size must be between 0.30 and 0.45 mm, and the uniformity coefficient representing the grain consistency must be 2.0 or lower. Only those that pass product testing are shipped to water purification plants across the country. 【Features】 ■ Low content of impurities, flat or weak sand, and sand iron ■ Washing turbidity is below 30 degrees ■ Density is between 2.57 and 2.67 g/cm3 ■ Loss on ignition is 1.3% or lower ■ Friction rate is 3.0% or lower *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Filter sand (for slow and rapid use)

The water filtration material made from Japanese raw materials is certified and registered by the Japan Water Works Association (JWWA)!

We would like to introduce our "slow/fast filtration sand" that we handle. The filtration material for water supply made from Japanese raw materials is certified by the Japan Water Works Association (JWWA). According to the Japan Water Works Association standard (JWWA A 103:2006-2), "Filtration sand must enable stable and efficient filtration and washing in filtration ponds, and must conform to the specifications for main components, quality (physical properties), and quality (leachability)." 【Quality Specifications (Partial)】 <Physical Properties> ■ Cleaning turbidity [degrees]: 30 or less ■ Density [g/cm3]: 2.57 to 2.67 ■ Loss on ignition [%]: 1.3 or less ■ Abrasion rate [%]: 3.0 or less ■ Hydrochloric acid solubility [%]: 3.5 or less *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.
